Bmw M5 Convertible: the car that never was

BMW confirmed a long-rumored M5 convertible that it developed 20 years ago by showing it to journalists at an event celebrating 25 years of the BMW M5. And Autocar has provided us with the exclusive pictures of the car that has two lengthened front doors and seating for four. All those years ago, BMW decided to can the project due to sales concerns. BMW explained that the car been pegged for sale at a price of £50,000. It was scheduled to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show and it even had a BMW booking space but it was canned a week before the event. BMW had thought that releasing the car would result in demand for non-M 5 Series convertibles and this could have harmed sales of the highly profitable drop-top 3-Series.
