Classic Recreations will soon be reproducing the Shelby GT500CR from the 1960s after it had been granted a license by Carroll Shelby. Classic Recreations is a well-known bespoke coachbuilder based in Yukon , Okia. It has a reputation for having recreated the exotic Mustang supercars. The licensing game began in the 1980s, when the right was sold to build some versions of Cobra assembled originally from new old stock and lately from newly manufactured components, according to the manufacturer. However, this is the first time that a Mustang-based Shelby has been officially authorized.
Classic Recreations owner Jason Engel said that he is “humbled and honored” to be given this chance. At the moment, a few details are still being discussed but Engel assures everyone that they will love the new car. He said that it will retain the most iconic Shelby elements but will have modern performance and supercar level horsepower.
Caroll Shelby has a few conditions for granting the agreement. Each new Shelby GT500CR will be built with authentic Shelby Performance parts. Each car will also require the input and oversight from Carroll Shelby Licensing and Shelby Automobiles technical staff. As the car leaves the workshop, it will have an official Shelby serial number and badges. Each car will also be included in the official Shelby Worldwide Registry.
