Audi TT 100th Anniversary Edition launched in Japan

In celebration of Audi’s 100th anniversary, a new special edition of the TT Coupe will soon be launched in Japan. The limited series is based on the S-line version of the 2.0-liter TFSI configuration. According further to Autoblog, only 100 units will be manufactured.

The special edition model will be available in two color versions — pearl blue and bright orange. Added features include carbon fiber exterior trim, 19-inch alloys fitted with 255/35 R19 tires plus black leather seats with white contrasting stitching. Pricing and full list of specifications have yet to be disclosed. The current generation Audi TT Coupe was launched officially on April 6, 2006 at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

The Audi TT had initially been offered only in a coupe bodystyle. It had an overall luggage capacity of 290 liters (extendable to 700 liters by folding the rear bench). Powering the car was either a 2.0L turbocharged TFSI engine delivering 200 hp or a 250-hp naturally aspired 3.2L V6. Both were connected to a standard 6-speed manual transmission (S tronic dual-clutch gearbox was optional).

The first unit came with front-wheel-drive, while the V6 was available with standard all-wheel-drive. Among the many features of the 2006 Audi TT Coupe are the redesigned sport-oriented suspension, larger track (due to the introduction of wider wheels) and an optional high-tech Audi magnetic ride damper system.
